Hello World!
Ever made a decision you weren't too proud of? Ever tried to right your wrongs? Ever made mistakes but you learned from them? Or need motivation that you still can? We'll meet Dezhon Johnson, a thriving Detroit native! Dezhon knows a lot about making the wrong decisions and trying to right his wrongs. Like many of the males growing up in Detroit, Dezhon fell into the hands of the system at a young age. Starting his criminal background at the age of 12. Dezhon admits he was lost and didn't know what his purpose was. Until he got a little insight from his experience in High School. Dezhon had a following from his peers and knew that was something he wanted to keep. He like that people looked up to him and saw him as the man.
Dezhon graduated in 2014!
This "fame," lead to him being known in the city of Warren mostly due to his outlandish ways. Dezhon was definitely what you'd call a "wild boy," who held no shame! Being a kid from Detroit having prominence in another city was actually refreshing for Dezhon because he didn't know many who had a platform like himself. Dezhon had no real understanding of his actions because honestly he didn't care to have one! He even had two different schools looking to recruit him for football! Dezhon even scored a 21 on his ACT so intelligence was the least of his problems.
In the year 2014, he fought over eleven cases alone! Due to his bad reputation in Warren the police wanted him incarcerated bad! On January 21, 2015, Dezhon's life took a drastic turn and which at the time seemed like the worst thing to ever happen! Dezhon was arrested for two counts of armed robbery for a crime he didn't commit! While being arrested Dezhon was with a girl whom he's very fond of named Shay. He said it was when he was holding her hand while undergoing arrest he knew he wanted his life to change.
Upon entering prison Dezhon was furious because of his wrongful conviction and went on a rampage. He was constantly placed in the hole due to his confrontational nature! Dezhon self-sabotaged his chances for early release several times. On May 24, 2016, Dezhon lost his Grandma. This tragedy took a toll on Dezhon, he had finally calmed down. He realized due to his actions and being connected to the wrong people he lost out on his last moments with his Grandma.
Immediately from that moment in prison Dezhon started analyzing and working towards change. He looked back at his actions and where he went wrong, analyzed his friends and found his foes, distinguished his family from his relatives, and strengthen his relationship with God. Since his release this year, Dezhon has fought hard to make sure he doesn't fall back into the hands of the system.
Dezhon found himself employment asap, due to the fees he knew he'd face for probation as well as being able to support himself. By establishing a job this help him set up housing for himself on the westside of Detroit! And with dreams of furthering his education, he enrolled himself in online schooling. So now he's a full time student at AIU majoring in Business Administration. All while working two full time jobs while ultimately pursuing his dreams of being a rapper. Dezhon has been doing all he can to not fall back in his ways. Many of our young males don't receive recognition for their efforts! And I'd like to give him some praise for his! From felonies to a better me! Dezhon hopves to leave his criminal past behind, hoping to not add to his overall total of 24 counts. By overcoming his ego and overstanding his consequences Dezhon has been able to advance in life by defeating his odds. It's amazing what you can do when you change your mind, your bound to change your situation!
